We sell ourselves in an interview whether it is for a job or for marriage.
We sell products, services, ideas, space, concept, and whatnot. Salespeople are mainly inspired by two things - money and status. They want to be paid great and they measure their success by the size of their incomes in comparison to others. Also, they want to be recognized and acknowledged for their efforts and successes.
Most salespeople have never been professionally trained in selling. Around 90% of salespeople can increase their sales with additional knowledge and skill. Sometimes you are only one skill away from becoming a sales champion. Your ability to “sell” others on your ideas will determine your success in your life and career as much as any other factor.

Secret 1 - STUDY Sales Champions
If you want to become a Sales Champion, you need to study other sales champions. For instance, if you are in Car Sales and you are aware of Mr Joe Girard who was named as the greatest salesman by Guinness Book of World Records, you would be wanting to learn from him. But, if he is not available, or you cannot go to America because of any reason, or his training is very costly for you to participate. What will you do?
Sales Champion like Joe shares their life success and sales success stories through their BOOKS. Study them to be a sales champion like them.
There are other great salespeople who we should study - Tom Hopkins, Brian Tracy, Grant Cardone, Zig Ziglar, Mary Kay Ash, Ben Feldman and many more.
Google their name and you will find their books, videos or audio lessons. Study them and implement them.
Secret 2 - Be motivated -ALWAYS
Sales is the highest pay job on the entire planet and as a result, it is the most challenging job as well. To be in the list of sales champion we must motivate ourselves daily. When we will make a sale, we will be very happy, but when there is no sale, that day we would not like anything. This is sales. If happens gives us unexplainable joy but if not gives us bitter sadness. Friends, we need to encourage ourselves to come out of depression in the tough times, only then we will be a successful salesperson.
Secret 3 - Keep Sales Funnel ALIVE
As the study conducted by Bain & Co. Customer Acquisition is costlier then Customer Retention. The focus should be to have an agape relationship with our customers so they never leave us. And then, focus on to get the new prospects on board so that our sales funnel is alive all the time. These two things should be done in a perfect balance.
Remember - Sales Champions don't lose their existing clients.
And keep their sales funnel active and alive with potential customers.
If you don't do this you will one day go out of business.
I have sold door to door, made cold calling with appointments, without appointments but I have not forgotten these three secrets in my life. I am still learning, and what I learn, I implement and when I get success - I share with others.
